Infectious enjoyment is guaranteed

Pure enjoyment that is truly infectious............

The music performed by The Lovelies is impossible to categorise and attracts audiences not only of folk/acoustic music lovers, but from a much wider range of people who enjoy hearing excellent singer/songwriters with the addition of captivating instrumentals. Wherever Abbie Lathe and her colleagues have performed there has been a genuine desire to hear them again.

As well as airing their own music The Lovelies also perform some excellent covers, well exemplified by Army Dreamer and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Traditional music is not left out and their rendition of the Mingulay Boat Song interwoven with an ancient language Nord song is truly memorable.

Abbie Lathe and Claudia Gibson who were two thirds of the Maddy Prior and The Girls singing trio which toured to full houses and great national acclaim.  The trio recorded a very successful CD ‘Under The Covers’.

Jane Griffiths adds wonderful violin playing to the line-up whilst Colin Fletcher contributes not only as a superb guitarist, but also an excellent composer of instrumentals.

An evening with Abbie Lathe will always bring a smile to the face of audiences because her sense of pure enjoyment is truly infectious. Claudia, Jane and Colin’s expertise and quirkiness add to this sense of fun that accompanies musical talent of the highest quality. They are at home and down to earth with audiences of many different tastes, from Glastonbury to the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
